town of Sarchí and the excitement of exploring
the heights of the tropical jungle with a leisurely afternoon
relaxing in hot mineral springs. Come and be amazed by

Sarchí has been the center of production for the colorful
oxcarts that are an integral part of Costa Rica's history. Smaller
versions of the beautiful hand-painted carts are sold as souvenirs,
along with other great gifts, including exquisitely carved wooden
boxes and bowls made from beautiful light and dark tropical
woods.
From Sarchí, the
journey continues on to Termales del Bosque, near San Carlos
(also known as Ciudad Quesada) in Costa Rica's northern region.
The life zone of the area is tropical wet forest in transition
to pre-montane wet forest, an intermediate zone between lowland
and mountain forests that contains a remarkable variety of
flora and fauna.
