The Pacuare Canopy
Adventure begins with an exhilarating 20-minute hike
into the unspoiled rainforest surrounding the Pacuare
Lodge. Upon arrival at the first platform, the lead guide
reviews with you safety guidelines, and after a demonstration,
the adventure begins. From the mountainside starting point,
you will witness a panoramic vista of the Pacuare River and
surrounding jungle.
You will then soar
along a horizontal cable through the verdant tree-tops of
one of Costa Rica’s internationally famous rainforests
to the highest canopy platform in Costa Rica; a height of
nearly 90 feet (30 meters)! In a series of maneuvers that
include swinging, climbing and hanging between platforms and
horizontal slides, you will experience what can only be described
as a pulse-stopping view of the most complex of earth’s
biological communities. After almost an hour of pushing your
senses to their limits, this impressive aerial adventure ends
with the longest rappel in the country. Hold on to your safety
harness as you drop a distance of 70 feet (24 meters) to the
forest floor – just meters from the main lodge. Come
