The Hotel Don Carlos expresses the warmth and charm of Costa Rica's rich heritage. The 33-room boutique hotel is located in the oldest historical residential area of San José, an area currently being redesigned as a refined French Quarter, like New Orleans. The Hotel Don Carlos was completely renovated in 1996, and in 1998 the hotel inaugurated its "Orchid Garden" outdoor dining area, situated amidst exuberant palm trees near a small pool with a jungle waterfall.
