Centro Neotrópico Sarapiquís is an eco-development created to further conservation of nature in combination with sustainable tourism. The project is a grand gateway to the awe-inspiring rain forest and the realm of the unbound nature of this northern region of Costa Rica. The center was built to resemble a pre-Colombian village and was designed and developed as an eco-model project using ecological sustainable technologies, solar energy, local natural materials and an innovative wetland wastewater treatment installation. Guests will encounter the mysteries of the verdant rain forest while enjoying a comfortable stay in the spacious "palenques" (indigenous huts)of the ecolodge, which also offers an inviting restaurant and bar. Adventurous rafting and kayaking trips are available on the local rivers.
