CENTRAL PACIFIC
From Puntarenas to Dominical, the Central Pacific Coast is very accessible, wonderfully scenic and full of a wide variety of activities. Great beaches, surfing and rainforests abound, and the Sport-fishing is World-class. It is the region which offers the most variety in things to do and see in one place. The region’s main attractions are its unspoiled beaches and protected wilderness areas which, in some cases, are less than two hours from San José, allowing for quick access. Among the most important wild areas include wildlife refuges, national parks and biological preserves. It is ideal due to its close proximity to the Central Valley for organizing sporting events, as well as cultural and recreational activities. The scenic beauty along the coastal highway that connects the Caldera area with the Quepos and Manuel Antonio regions, are one of the most impressive areas in the country.
