To rent a vehicle, you must leave a deposit of US$750 on any major international credit card. The car rental company will deliver the vehicle to you as well as drop you off at your hotel when you return the vehicle. Pick ups and drop-offs may be arranged at most locations in Costa Rica.
Although many of the country's main roads are in excellent shape, we recommend four-wheel-drive vehicles because there are some roads that are either unpaved or in poor condition.
