Poás Volcano National Park
The Volcan Poas National Park is one of the most visited protected areas in the country. The ride there is scenic and pleasant, and since it’s only 47 kilometers away from San Jose, many local and foreign visitors vist this remarkable national park. This tour begins early morning when guests are picked up from their San José hotel in a comfortable minibus and driven through rolling coffee plantations and farmlands . Once at the volcano guests will have the opportunity to see one of the world’s largest geyser. One of its craters measure 0.9 miles and is 900 feet deep. Later we take the side trail through the forest for about 25 minutes to the interesting Botos Lake. . It’s important to keep in mind that the weather here is humid, and that even if it doesn’t rain, you’ll need good shoes, as well as a raincoat and sweater.
