COSTA RICA MULTIDAY PACKAGES

9 days / 8 nights  South Pacific Rainforest Adventure

San José-Savegre-Dominical-Casa Corcovado-San José
Misty mountain cloud forests, unspoiled tropical beaches and a jungle adventure worthy of Jurassic Park (without the dinos) beckon you on this deliciously romantic journey to Costa Rica’s less trodden southern frontier.

Day 1: Airport meet and greet and transfer to city hotel
Transfer from the airport to the Grano De Oro Hotel or similar.

Day 2: Transfer to Trogon Lodge and Cloud Forest

After breakfast you and your partner will be picked-up and transferred south-east to Costa Rica’s highest mountain range. Along the way you will pass near Cartago, Costa Rica’s old colonial capital before beginning a steep climb to the cloud forest. Small towns and picturesque villages dot the courtside, later giving way to emerald forests and cool, misty weather.  You will overnight at the cozy Trogon Lodge or Dantica Lodge (B).

Either lodge offers guests a cozy and romantic ambiance perfect for couples who desire privacy and intimacy with nature. Here guests have access to a private cloud forest with a system of trails ideal for bird-watching and nature viewing. Almost 2 km of trails wind through various types of primary forest with a crystal clear mountain stream, as well as various stages of regenerating forest. Many green bromeliads thrive on the forest floor while crimson colored ones crown the canopy some 40 meters above you in the realm of the resplendent Quetzals.

Day 3: Transfer to Dominical (South Pacific)

After a hearty breakfast you will depart for the town of Dominical, an unspoiled beach haven famous with surfers and nature lovers. The road to Dominical passes through San Isidro del General, a thriving agricultural town then continues through lush jungle and scattered towns before touching down at an idyllic palm-fringed beach.  You will overnight at the Cuna del Angel Hotel or similar. ( B)

Day 4: Ballena National Marine Park

Day at our leisure or optional visit to Ballena (Whale) National Marine Park ( not included in the price). Overnight at the Cuna de Angel Hotel or similar. (B)

Day 5: Transfer to Corcovado

This morning you will head to the riverside town of Sierpe (approximately 1 hour), where you will board a small motorboat that will take you along the mangrove-lined Sierpe River to Casa Corcovado Lodge. This exotic lodge is located just minutes from Corcovado National Park, an area that has been called “the most biologically intense place on earth" by no less an authority than the National Geographic Society. Depending on individual preference, time spent at the lodge can be divided between adventure pursuits, delicious and plentiful food at mealtimes, swimming in the spring-fed pool or just relaxing in your bungalow and enjoying the peace and romantic tranquility of the jungle. Overnight at Casa Corcovado Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Hiking in Corcovado National Park
After a delicious breakfast you will head out from the lodge with your naturalist guide and make your way towards Corcovado National Park. Along the trail your guide will have a chance to tell you some of the fascinating stories about life in the rainforest and point out the vibrant wildlife species which include monkeys, coatimundis, squirrels, spiders, macaws, bats, leaf cutting ants, and other animal species.
Overnight at Casa Corcovado Lodge or similar.(B,L,D)

Day 7: Caño Island Tour

Directly offshore mysterious Caño Island beckons to the intrepid traveler. Here you can walk in the footsteps of ancient Indian kings and bloodthirsty pirates. The Tour starts after breakfast when your guide will help you select snorkeling gear. For those who want to explore the coral reefs around the Island it’s a great opportunity to see a fantastic number of fish, rays and sometimes turtles. This is one of the best dive spots in Costa Rica. After the immersion in these pristine waters visitors will have time to check-in at the Park Station on the island and explore the beach. Farther inland, a large numbers of tombs have been found with an incredible variety of gold figurines made with the “lost-wax” process so that each one is unique. The natives may have abandoned the Island when men of another sort started to arrive.
Overnight at Casa Corcovado Lodge or similar. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Flight to San José
This morning you will board the motorboat and head back up the Sierpe River to the town of Palmar Sur, then take a small plane for a 45 minute flight back to San José. Here you will be picked up by a Tour Costa Rica representative and transferred to   Grano de Oro hotel or similar. (B)
