Corcovado Jungle Adventure
4 days & 3 nights
Remote Corcovado National Park is one of the wildest areas in Costa Rica, with hundreds of bird species and other wildlife in its lush rainforest, plus the marine wonders of Caño Island.

Day 01 Air transfer to Palmar Sur, motorboat transport to Casa Corcovado.
The excitement of this four-day, jungle adventure begins the moment your plane lifts off from San José and heads toward Costa Rica's southern Pacific coast. After a 45 minute scenic flight over beautiful landscapes you will touch down in the frontier town of Palmar Sur. You’ll then be transported by motorboat along the mangrove-lined Sierpe River and the open sea to your ecolodge, Casa Corcovado, nestled within a 150-acre private reserve. The lodge is only a short boat-ride, or hike away from the entrance to Corcovado National Park, and the surrounding forest is home to an array of tropical wildlife that includes monkeys, toucans, parrots, baslisk lizards and colorful poison dart frogs. The lodge’s rustic but comfortable design creates the perfect setting for a jungle get-away. You can spend your time at the swimming pool, bird watching in the surrounding forest, on the nearby beach, relaxing at the bar, or napping in a hammock. Delicious and hearty meals are included in the rates.
Day 02 Caño Island Tour
On the second day, you can visit beautiful Caño Island, once a sacred burial ground for the area’s pre-Columbian inhabitants. That small island is covered with thick forest and has a white-sand beach, near which is a large rock reef bejeweled with scattered coral formations and sponges. Spend the morning snorkeling and admiring the varied tropical fish, such as the snappers, angelfish, Moorish idols, parrotfish, rays and other marine life.
Day 03 Hiking in Corcovado National Park
After breakfast, spend the morning with a naturalist guide hiking down narrow footpaths through one of the world’s most impressive rainforests. The National Geographic Society has called Corcovado "the most biologically intense place on earth." The park is a great place to experience the diversity of tropical nature, home to most of Costa Rica's endangered species, nearly 400 species of birds, more than 100 species of reptiles and amphibians and 124 mammal species. On your hike, you may come upon some of the park’s four species monkey species, agoutis (small brown rodents that scurry across the leafy forest floor), or coatis (raccoon-like creatures that hold their long black tails straight and tall as they meander through the undergrowth). Some visitors are lucky enough to catch sight of a tapir, an anteater, or a flock of scarlet macaws.

Day 04 Boat transfer to Sierpe & flight to San José.
This morning, you leave the lodge by boat, crossing the bay and heading back up the muddy Sierpe River to the town of Palmar Sur, where you will take a plane back to San José.
Above itinerary includes: Round-trip air transportation from San José, land and motor launch transportation to the lodge, 3 nights lodging at Casa Corcovado or similar lodge; all meals; tours of Corcovado National Park and Caño Island. Snorkeling gear is provided at the island. Optional tours such as scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, canoeing, early bird-watching tour, or horseback riding are additional.
